What the looping technique does
The service uses a Looping Technique used to secure the roots: hair is guided back through the base of each loc to tighten new growth and reconnect loose fibers. This focused root work targets the base of the locs rather than the length, and it preserves existing length while strengthening the root connection.
Looping is a mechanical method that tightens roots without adding extensions or altering the body of the loc. Because the appointment is rooted work only, the process does not include a shampoo or style; expect concentrated root repair during the allotted 120 minutes rather than a full wash and finish.
What to expect during service
A typical session is scheduled for 120 minutes and is priced between $185 - $255. During that time we focus on assessing the roots, sectioning, and applying the looping technique consistently across your locs. If the job requires more time than booked, additional work is billed at $75 for each hour after 2 hours.
Because shampoo and styling are not included, appointments are efficient and tailored to root maintenance. This makes the service useful for clients who need focused upkeep before events like shows at Mable House Amphitheatre or quick stops for commuters using Veterans Memorial Highway and nearby I-285 park-and-ride options.
Aftercare and scheduling choices
Aftercare largely depends on your lifestyle, the local humid subtropical climate, and how often you move between parks, trails and commuting routes. Humidity and frequent outdoor activity can influence how long a tightened root stays neat, so frequency and the timing of touch-ups will shape how tidy your locs look between appointments.
Scheduling choices reflect local routines: evening and weekend slots are available for families and trail users, while quick midweek appointments fit commuters heading through the Mableton - Floyd Road corridor. Because the service is maintenance-only, plan separate appointments if you want a shampoo, deep cleanse, or a finished style alongside root work.
